The Phone Call Of a Lifetime

Good evening all
As you may have read below i am on a search for my grandfathers family.
About 45mins ago i received a phone call from a lady who is my grandfathers niece. Need less to say the tears and just stopping now.
After a lucky find on facebook. I came across her. And sent her an email today. Not expecting anything from it. Then whilst watching the idiot box the phone rang and it was her. It was a short chat, because me being me i was speachless and fighting back the tears as she told me he would have been a great grandfather but passed in 1998.
She seems like lovely lady and was more then happy to answer the questions i was trying to spit out. Hopefully we will have another chat soon and maybe even meet her and my estranged aunty. But who knows wat the future holds. Right now im just over the moon im getting somewhere.

Who were you??

Good Evening to all..
As many of you might know my name is Gemma. What u might not know is i am the daughter of Jack and Rosemary. Granddaughter of Sebrial and Jack. GREAT granddaughter of Nena and James. Where am i headed you may ask? Well lets start at the beinging roughly 46 years ago.
My grandmother met a man named jack and later fell with child. With already having one child to a different man this was highly frowned apon, and wore a girdle for as long as she could to hide this. 9months later on the side of the road between Fifeild (google it. Middle of no where) and the nearest hospital out popped my dad :) .
Why not just ask my grandmother u may ask. She passed in the may of 1987 the year before i was born.
Grandma then went on to marry Ron (who we only refer to as ron or him! As he has nothing to do with me in 22years. Not even a hello is exchanged at family dos on his behalf. ) they went on to have 4 more children 2 boys and 2 girls (whom i love dearly)
Back to point. Dad remembers a man sitting in the stands watchin him play football as a child and teenager. This man was his father! Jack. Y they never met is still a mystery to us.
As we jump forward roughly 35 years. One rainy sunday we receive a phone call i was bout 15 at the time. It was a lady from canowndra. Anne was her name. She said she was jack's cousin. She had rang to invite us to a family reunion. ( in which dad declined - do you blame him? ) she went on to inform dad that Jack had passed 2 years prior. But out there he had a sister and a brother. Whom he had no idea bout. And that was it we haven heard from her since.
And this is where i come in. Im now 22 and am searching for my family. My aunty and uncle . My grandfather. Whether or not he has passed ( can not find a notice anywhere.). Who he was? Where he was born? What he did for a living. Im not after any thing just knowledge. Maybe a photo or 2. ( dad is ment to be a spitting image of him ). I guess i am trying to find where i fit in. I dont look like any1 and no im not adopted. Ha ha ha.
So i am putting it out there in the blogsphere hoping one day this will fall into the right hands as my google search has hit a brick wall. A big brick wall. Maybe one day i will find where i belong. Maybe one day i will meet those i would like to call family.

uvenile Arthritis / Uveitis

Happy Friday all

I received this email earlier today from a colleague my good friend works with. It certinally touched my heart, and i thought i would share it with you all. This disease affects 1 in 100 children Also if anybody knows any businesses who would be willing to help there are contact details at the end. To me this is a very worthy cause it made me stop and think what if.. what if it was my child or niece or nephew cousin ect.... there are many other organisations i do support dont get me wrong. As a member of markets and fairs magazine i have done all i can at the moment and that is putting adds on our website and on our email club that goes out to 1800 ppl every 2weeks.  So please have a read and i hope you are all as touched as i was..

Dear Gemma,

I am writing to you concerning a charity which is close to my heart and concerns our children.

I am the mother of a little boy who suffers from Juvenile Arthritis and was diagnosed at the age of two. It is a painful and cruel disease which can affect 1 in 100 children and at this stage there is no cure and we are not aware of the causes.

For the past two years we have been actively seeking the support of friends, organisations, businesses and the general public alike, through a fund raising dinner, to aid in the research for finding a cure and we are extremely proud to say that we have achieved so much! Our efforts have enabled the University of New South Wales to open the first ever research laboratory for Juvenile Arthritis / Uveitis in Australia.

In order to make this event successful again, we require prizes, gifts and cash donations from organisations such as Markets and Fairs magazine. We will be holding various raffles and a live Auction on the night, as well as great entertainment and a great time to be had by all. The dinner is being held at the Doltone House on 17th September 2010 and will have an attendance of 400 people. Your logo will be displayed on our website as a sponsor as soon as we receive a confirmation of donation, also displayed on the night,  and we offer the opportunity to put your fliers/magazines in the gift bags taken home by all.

I understand that there are many charities that would request donations from you on a daily basis and you must be inundated with emails such as this one. Any donations that you may be able to supply large or small would be of great assistance to helping us continue the research into finding a cure. As soon as any donation is received we would put Markets and Fairs' logo on with our current sponsors (of which include such names as Nokia, Jim Beam, Imax and Kelloggs) and Markets and Fairs Magazine would be noted on the night.

Please feel free to visit our website if you would like more information on Juvenile Arthritis Fundraiser.www.juvenilearthritisfundraiser.com

I thank you in advance for taking the time to read my email :-)

Warm Regards,

Strange But True

x
Afternoon all

One thing that always seems to amaze me is strange but true facts. So I thought i would share with you just a few.. Enjoy and if you have any more please feel free to add them in comments.

  • A recent study has show that men who drink excess amounts of cola ( coke)  have a 30% less sperm count then men who drink it in moderation.
  • Should there be a crash, Prince Charles and Prince William never travel on the same airplane as a precaution!
  • Verona, the Italian city where Shakespeare's play lovers Romeo and Juliet lived, receives about 1,000 letters every year sent to Juliet on Valentine's Day.

  •  Yowie sighting - In 1987, the Alice Springs police station received a call from a frightened family. The family had stopped for a cup of tea after a morning of rabbit hunting. Then a huge ape like creature, two meters tall and covered in hair, leapt out of an empty water tank and began walking towards them. The family fled to their truck and the creature ran after them before disappearing into the bush. The man, Frank Burns believed it was a man however the women, Phyllis Kenny, told the press she could tell the difference between man and beast and this was definitely a beast. The following day police searched the area and found a man, 203 centimetres tall weighing a estimated 127-159 kg (or about two Oprah Winfreys) sitting naked by the roadside. The man was then taken to a local mental hospital.  (i knew they were real)
  • A Sydney Australian football match was once stopped after fans smuggled a pig into the stadium, wrote the name of a big-boned player on the pig's side and then released it onto the ground.

Afternoon to yall

Well it has certainly been a while since i have written with the boss preparing to go overseas again i haven had much spare time. With her gone for an extented period and me chewing through my work quickly i now have a some spare time. Soim back *claps*

After having a fairly relaxing Sat. On Sun morning the boy decided he would cook me breaky and we would go to the shops gets some dvds and have abludge day..... Well.... little did we realise that they were all CLOSED! yes that's right i got rushed out the door for what i thought was nothing.... well oh how wrong i was. i thought i would take a long shot and see if we could go to the markets ( thinking that he hated then) and know i love going and browsing around i thought it would be a perfect pay back for rushing me. BOY i was Wrong
So off we went to Liverpool markets ( one of my clients) with me in the passenger seat frantically ringing them to make sure they were open before we jumped on the free way... Which they were.

A we parked the look on boys face said it all " where the hell has she brought me" from the outside it looks like a giant shed. as we crossed the road we could hear carni music and that look was priceless... as we wondered around he spotted a stall with (la git) football memorabilia we stopped half an hour later he decided on one. with leaving the stall he claimed he was( wrapped) we continued to look and he bought a few more items. Then the stall whom ( unfortunately ) i don't have has a client called OZ Rock well this bloke was plain out rude and obnoxious really got my blood boiling he sell band t shirts. Whilst browsing he came over ( as most stall holders do) and proceeded to ask what nationality i was. I told him Australian and in other words he pretty much told me i was a liar and that i couldn't be i had to beItalian or something (Below is a photo of me n the boy on v day this yr)

He then pointed to the boy and said look at him is Aussie his WHITE. Well as the blood rushed to my head i kept my mouth shut ( not remembering if he was a client or not) i stood there completely gob smack as he carried on about othercertain nationalities who make up quite a large percentage of stall holders at this market, and how they have ruined this country. At the next available moment we hit it outta there talking about that experience for the next few hours with my new nickname ( for this week at least) being my little Italian Minx.... Thanks Boy!!

On the Ride home the biggest shock it me, he suggested that we do markets at least every 2 weeks... well if i had been standing i think i would have fallen over. This suggestion i will be keeping him to.. so our next adventure will be .......Parklea

So Till next time Enjoy

Muse challenge 4 cha ching

Afternoon peeps

Well what a good way to spend a monday arvo doing this next muse challenge from Lori at Random Ramblings of a SAHM. I must also say i am doin my work to of course :D This piccie looks interesting, lets see what i can come up with today.
Secrets
As she stood looking in the mirror she looked her self up and down. What had happend to the little blonde blue eyed girl in that pink sundress ? what had she become? who was she? She was no longer Angela from a small country community she was Jamie upper class brothel worker. You may ask how she ended up here? she was a student studying to be an architect and working her way through college, she had met a girl who worked in the industry who had told her it was the perfect way to earn enough for her fees and have enough left over to play with.
She thought why not! she had always been pretty and able to do it like the best of them, and little extra cash wouldn hurt. Right?

As she pulled on her jeans and jacket she knew what tonight had install, a bunch of sleezy men looking for a good time, all kinds came to her work, single, young, divorced, married, old,men woman but most of all, ALL filthy rich.

As she left her penthouse apartment she walked down the neon lit street, to everyone else she was a nobody but in her world she was the best of the best at just 23 earning nearly two thousand dollars a week. She turned the corner into a dim alley and went in the workers entrance, to be greeted by the friendly faces of her co-workers all dressed in the skimpy sexy outfits they all wore. As she got ready for a nights work, she popped her head out into the bar, " full house tonight" she said to the leggy brunette next to her. " Yeah its been like this since 6 some convention in town" she sighed.
A long night ahead she thought to her self,as she walked out to the bar to see who she could pick up first. She spotted a young man roughly the same age as her, he seemed nervous so she walked over to him. She tried her usual friendly chat, try and loosed him up a bit, he was there with a group of about 6men drinking, playing pool. They started whistling and carrying on as they talked.
They walked off upstairs to one of the tastefully decorated rooms. As she sat on the bed next to him she put her hand on his lap, he flinched. She looked at him " are you a virgin? not that experienced" she asked him. He put his head down. "No none of them " he replied harshly. Curious she had to ask. " are you gay?" he hung his head as a tear slid down his cheek. You would never have picked it she thought. tall muscles, rugged and Manley.
"They dont know do they. You friends i mean" she asked in a soft comforting tone. " No he replied they would disown me." He admitted. " They are all about picking up chicks and " banging" them no offence"
"None taken she laughed"
"ill pay you to just sit here with me till its time " he panicked thinking he was sprung.
"This one is on me " she smiled. "How bout a massage or just a chat?" he nodded in reply.

Once there time was up she returned him down stairs. He put on an act and she patted him on the back, returning to her back room for a martini her self. She sat and wondered how many men were out there in the same situation? hundreds she thought. Surely. She now knew she wasn the only one living a double life.
As the night went on clients walked in and out. That young man on her mind for the rest of the night. As the sun rose she left the building and slowly walked home through the empty streets all the neon lights had been turned off.

Back to collage this afternoon back to her normal life, as normal as she could be.

3rd time lucky

Time for challenge number 3 set by Menopausal Mummaagain some kind of mishap happended on friday and half of it was cut off ....
As we pulled into the drive memories come flooding to he. She had not been here since she left when she was 18. The Family Farm was full of warmth and fun times, but at 18 she just needed to get out. Needed to start her own life.

She went to the city, where she eventually met her husband a magazine publisher and they married and had a son, and now with another one on the way. She decided it was time to take her 2 boys back to the place she had grown up. Where she had learnt to ride a horse. Kick her first ball. run through the fields wind blowing in through her hair.

As the car pulls up she reaches over and honks the horn. Her parents came running to the door, dad clearing the top step running to the car, basically dragging her out the door. To her dad his baby had come home.

As her husband and Logan got out of the car, Logans eyes widened at the sight of the space he had to run, at 2 he had so much energy. As her husband too there bags inside she decided to show Logan where mummie had grown up. Instead of Running through the woods now she walked hand in hand with her baby boy. re-living the momories of the wind in her hair. Running and laughing as a child.

Before she knew it, her dad was calling them in for dinner and it was getting dark, she gathered logan up in her arms and carried him to the house. Together they ate and laughed. With the night closing to an end, she tucked logan into bed and sat with her husband and baby on the porch watching the stars till late.

Blog Writing challange 2of the Muse wars- changing the life she knew

Oh yay Another challenge. I must admit i love them. This one was set by madmother. i difficult one i must admit ( image is below). but here i go ill give it a shot.

She knew she was different, not the same as the other girls, with there blonde hair and tan skin, she was pale, jet black hair and grey eyes. She Felt NO boy ever wanted her cause she was so different till she met Martin. He was Different from all the rest, his Hair Also Jet black emerald green eyes. she had seen him watching her for a while, he would come into work just to to talk her. He Would ask her how her day was? or what she had planned for the weekend? waiting for the right moment.

Week after week the excuses continued. All of which she knew he knew weren true. Dates she made up that never exisited. She never had much self confidence, and wondered why her? why did he want to spend the evening with her? Till one day he said to her " Tonight, you me dinner 7 o'clock" she couldn say no the words wouldn leave her mouth. She just simply nodded. Little did she know tonight would change life as she knew it.

She dressed in her usual nothing special out fit. Straight hair and smokey dark eyes. Dark denium jeans and a red top. She hopped into her car and drove to the resturant he had asked her to meet him at. Sure enough he was waiting, With a bunch of red roses in one hand as he walked towards her to open her door, and there she was thinking gental men didnt exist. As she hopped out he sweeped her into his arms. " I didnt think you would come" he sighed with relif. she glanced at the clock tower and realised she was an hour late.

"You waited" she said shocked. No one had ever waited for her before.
"I have a feeling about you" he replied.
In shock all she could come out with was " shall we eat"
he giggled " lets go"

An evening she will remember for the rest of her life, an evening filled with laughs, and fun moments.
"Will i ever see you again?" she shyly asked as he walked her to the car.
"You can see me every day for as long as like" he smiled. He knew she felt it too.
She knew it, she knew she had found the one she had spent years looking for, the one who with one glance knew what she thinking or how she felt. The one who changed her out look on life. The one who was changing the life she knew.

Not too happy with this one but this shall do

Weird Dreams

Aternoon.

You know those dreams you just can figure out? well i have been having lost of those latley and thanks to http://www.dreammoods.com here a few to help others that may have the same issue. lastest one involved mr chop riding a killer dolphin who was his friend!

Dolphins ( one of mine)
To see a dolphin in your dream, symbolizes spiritual guidance, your intellect, mental attributes and emotional trust. Utilize your mind to its capacity and you will move upward in life. Alternatively, it suggests that a line of communication has been established between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself. Dolphins represent your willingness and ability to explore and navigate through your emotions.
To dream that you are riding a dolphin, represents your optimism and social altruism.

Children
To see children in your dream, signify an aspect of yourself and your childlike qualities. You may be retreating back to a childlike state where you are longing for the past and the chance to satisfy repressed desires and unfulfilled hopes. Perhaps there is something that you need to see grow and nurtured. Take some time off and cater to the inner child within. Alternatively, the dream may be highlighting you innocence, purity, simplicity, and carefree attitude.
To dream that your own grown children are still very young, indicates that you still see them as young and dependent. You want to feel needed and significant.
To dream that you are watching children but they do not know you are there, is a metaphor for some hidden knowledge or some latent talent which you have failed to recognize.
To save a child, signifies your attempts to save a part of yourself from being destroyed. If you dream that you are separated from your children, then it symbolizes failure in some personal endeavor or a setback in some ideal you had.

Baby
To see a baby in your dream, signifies innocence, warmth and new beginnings. Babies symbolize something in your own inner nature that is pure, vulnerable, helpless and/or uncorrupted. If you find a baby in your dream, then it suggests that you have acknowledged your hidden potential. If you dream that you forgot you had a baby, then it suggests that you are trying hide your own vulnerabilities; You do not want to let others know of your weaknesses.
If you dream that you are on your way to the hospital to have a baby, then it signifies your issues of dependency and your desire to be completely care for. Perhaps you are trying to get out of some responsibility. If you are pregnant, then a more direct interpretation may simply mean that you are experiencing some anxieties of making it to the hospital when the time comes.
To dream of a crying baby, indicates that a part of yourself that is deprived of attention and needs some nurturing. Alternatively, it represents your unfulfilled goals and a sense of lacking in your life. If you dream that a baby is neglected, then it suggests that you are not paying enough attention to yourself. You are not utilizing your full potential. Alternatively, this dream could represent your fears about your own children and your ability to protect and to provide for them.
To dream about a starving baby, represents your dependence on others. You are experiencing some deficiency in your life that needs immediate attention and gratification.
To dream of an extremely small baby, symbolizes your helplessness and your fears of letting others become aware of your vulnerabilities and incompetence. You may be afraid to ask for help and as a result tend to take matters into your own hands. http://www.dreammoods.com
To see a dead baby in your dream, symbolizes the ending of something that is part of you.
To dream that you are dipping a baby in and out of water, signifies regression. You are regressing to a time where you had no worries and responsibilities. Alternatively, it is reminisce of when the baby is in the fetus and in its comfort zone. In fact, some expectant mothers even give birth in a pool, because the environment in the water mimics the environment in the uterus. It is less traumatic for the baby as it emerges into the world. So perhaps, the dream your search for your own comfort zone.

Death
To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about him. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.
To dream of your own death, indicates a transitional phase in your life. You are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Alternatively, you are trying desperately to escape the demands of your daily life

Feelings through dreams have meanings too such as

Confusion
To dream that you are confused, may reflect your true confused state of mind and the nonsensical events of your dream. Isolate the single element in your dream that is confusing to you and analyze the meaning of that particular symbol. Alternatively, dreams of confusion signifies that you are being pulled in opposite directions or do not know which viewpoint is right

Emotions
Emotions expressed in dreams is a way for people to act out their feelings which they would not normally express if they were awake. This provides a "safe" outlet for these emotions instead of letting them be pent up.

Love
To dream of love of being in love, suggests intense feelings carried over from a waking relationship. It implies happiness and contentment with what you have and where you are in life. On the other hand, you may not be getting enough love in your daily life. We naturally long for the sense to belong and to be accepted

could it be the same? -writing challange from The Things I'd Tell You.... -

Howdy doody

Ok thanks to Lori Random Ramblings of a SAHM i have come across Melissa at The Things I'd Tell You and he wonderful writing challange. i must say im not the worlds best writer but ill give it a shot ay.. Enjoy!

Could it be the same?

Was it that wrong she wondered? Is it that wrong to have what i want for once? Am i running she asked her self? Many would say yes. Yes she was running, running from a life many dream of, a husband who adored her apartment with everything you could possibly imagine in it,a job where she was well on her way to the top of that corporate ladder, a family that loved her. but it seems it wasnt enough for her. She wanted one thing and one thing only....Him!

It was 7am on a cold winters morning, with suitcase in tow she jumped in taxi from her city appartment. "The airport please" she said her voice soft and sweet and almost innocent. Off he sped weaving in and out of the morning mayhem and she stared out the window knowing what shes left behind, knowing that in a few short hours she would be in a different state, far away from the life she had built but being with the one she had once loved for so many years. The rain fell and the taxi sped leaving with her old life fading away in the distance she felt a strange releif.

From the taxi she ran to the check in counter with an hour to spare, and handed over her ticket and bag. " Mrs Jones? excuse me Mrs Jones" In her own little world totally oblivious to what was going on. " yes sorry" she replied " Gate 27 mam" " you leave from gate 27". " Thank you " she replied, and hurried off .

Staring out the big glass windows she watched the planes land and take off knowing her turn would be coming soon. As she boarded she took her seat next to a nice older lady, dressed in a business suit. " where you off to dear" the business lady asked. " Sydney" she replied. " oh any special reason or just a holiday?". "Business " she replied staring out the window with her head down. she wasn't about to tell her that she had left her husband to see long lost love. and to her this was business. Something that needed to be taken care of.

As the plane landed to butterflies grew. Knowing that he was out there waiting for her. Remembering she had contacted him, she was the one who wanted to know if there was still something. She wondered. If there was nothing could she ever go back? back to the life she had?

Heading out, bag in tow, searching. searching for him! Panic set in as she couldnt find him. has he stood her up? did he change his mind or morals. And then she felt it his arms wrapped around her waist as she spun around there lips locked and she knew. She knew from that instant it wasnt the same as 7 years ago. She was wrong!

But now what was she going do? Could she go back?

My first blog challenge.... OoOoOo

Hidy Ho

Ok so this my first Blog This Challenge......... OoOoOoOo..... i don't really have any idea what im doing but. the theme ( i guess you would call it) is : What would you tell yourself? Would you give advice? What advice would that be?
Well many that know me know that Patience isnt my strongest point, i would tell my self to learn to have some Patience, and realise everything doesn't come at once (which i now know). If i was to give any advice it would be that, you will get hurt and your heart will break but with in time it will heal and you will be okay again, time heals all wounds. I wouldn sit here and tell myself not to do things, because those things, the fun, the pain, the stupid random shit, made me who i am today. the last thing i would tell my self is to just relax have fun and enjoy the ride we call life.

okay first one over and done with... bring on the next one :D heheh

much love
